Payment setup

Everything about taking money is under Settings, in the "Orders and payments" group. Cash at the till needs no setup; online payments need a gateway. Card rates and payouts have their own guide, Payouts and card rates.

Cash only

Under Settings, "General", tick "We take cash only" if no card or online payment is needed. That completes the payments step of the setup checklist. Payments at the till are then cash, or "Card at the terminal" when you take a card on your own terminal.

Online payments

Open Settings, "Online payments". The first card, "Offered at checkout", has one switch per online payment method your country has: guests can choose a method only once its switch is on. A method not set up yet shows "Not set up yet" and a link instead of a switch. "Paying at the counter is always offered."

  • Stripe, for cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay: press "Connect with Stripe" on the "Card payments with Stripe" card and finish the steps on Stripe's pages.
  • Konnect, for Tunisian dinar, cards and wallets, with keys as below.
  • Tap, for venues in the Gulf: paste the "Tap secret key" on its card, then switch Tap on under "Offered at checkout".

Payment keys

Under Settings, "Online payments", open "Payment keys" and fill in the Konnect card: the "API key" and the "Receiver wallet ID", then "Save keys". Keys are stored encrypted and never shown again; to change one, type the new value over it. Then switch Konnect on under "Offered at checkout".

Press "Check connection": "Connected. The key was accepted." means the gateway answered; "Refused. Check the key and save it again." means it did not. "Last webhook" shows when the gateway last called back.

The WhatsApp keys for guest messages are not payment keys: they sit with the messages, as the Messages and alerts guide explains.

Pay at the table

Under Settings, "Pay at the table" decides what a guest sees when settling from their phone (on every paid plan):

  • "Tip buttons": up to four percentages shown on the bill and at online checkout. Until you change them they are the usual tips of your country; a bill that already carries a service charge shows none.
  • "Service fee", in your currency, and "Who pays the fee": "The guest, added to the bill", or "You: guests are not charged it". When a table splits the bill, each guest pays their share of the fee, not the whole fee again.
  • "Accepted at the table": the online methods your country uses. A guest can always ask a server for the bill.
  • "Review link": where a paid bill invites the guest to leave a review. It is set under Reviews, and shown only while review requests are on.

Refunds

A manager or an owner refunds an online payment from Orders & payments, then Payments; it goes back the way it came. A reservation deposit is refunded from the booking.

Tax, fiscal registers and e-invoices

The receipt shows VAT per rate from the tax profiles under Settings, "Tax". With a Tunisian currency the fiscal stamp is added per order. Where the law asks for a certified register or for electronic invoices, Settings also carries "Fiscal" and "E-invoicing" cards; your tax number and legal name are set once under "General" and read from there. The "VAT summary" report totals the tax collected per rate for the period.
