Choices and menus by time

"Choices" and "Menus by time" are both tabs of Menus, under Menu & stock.

Choice groups

A choice group is a set of options guests pick from when they order a dish: sauces, sizes, extras. On the "Choices" tab, press "New group" and give it a "Group name". Then set the rule with "Min" and "Max": a Min of 1 forces a choice, and leaving "Max (blank = ∞)" empty means no limit. The list shows the rule in words, such as "Optional" or "Required, pick 1". Press "Add option" for each option, with its name and an "Extra price". A price of zero shows as "Free".

A group does nothing until a dish offers it. Open the dish from Menus, tick the group under its "Choices" card, and save. Guests then pick from the options when they order that dish. The same group can be ticked on as many dishes as you like, so changing it once changes it everywhere.

Menus by time

On the "Menus by time" tab, press "New time window" and give it a name. Under "What it does", choose one of two effects:

• "Menu by time of day": the chosen dishes are shown and sold only during this window, for breakfast, lunch or late night.
• "Happy hour price": prices change for a few hours, as a "Percentage off" or a "Fixed price".

Set "From", "Until" and the "Days" it runs. A window that ends before it starts runs past midnight, like 22:00 to 02:00. Under "Applies to", pick the menus, categories or, for a price change, single dishes. Choose one branch or "All branches". Windows run on each branch's own clock.

A window shows "Active" while it is on and "Paused" when you untick "Running" in it, so you can keep a happy hour for later without deleting it. With no windows at all, every dish is on sale at its usual price, all day.
