Allergens

The allergen matrix is the Allergens tab of Menus, under Menu & stock. It lists every dish on your menu against the 14 allergens and checks each dish against what its recipe contains.

Read the matrix

Each dish is a row with its declared allergens and a status. "Matches the recipe" means the declaration agrees with the ingredients. A status such as "Recipe contains milk, eggs" means the recipe carries an allergen the dish does not declare. "Not checked" means nobody has reviewed the dish yet; guests are told plainly that allergen information has not been provided for it. Press "Needs attention" to show only the dishes that need a look. With more than one menu, pick one under "Menu", or keep "All active menus".

Fix a dish

Press a row to open the dish. Under "Dietary and allergens", tick every allergen it contains, or "None of these" when it has none: until you do, guests are told the allergens have not been provided. If the dish has a recipe, a note says what the recipe contains and "Add them" ticks those allergens for you. Treat that as a suggestion, not a verdict.

Tell the matrix what ingredients carry

The recipe check is only as good as your ingredients. Under Inventory, open an ingredient, set its "Allergens" and tick that you have checked it. Dishes that use an unchecked ingredient show "Some ingredients are not checked yet".

Print it

"Print or save as PDF" opens the printed page, with the 14 allergens as columns, for the menu you selected. Print it again after every menu change.
