Switching from TheFork
A TheFork alternative: your guests, your bookings, your own page.
Import your guest list from TheFork, keep marketing consent as it was given, and take bookings on a page with your name on it.
7-day free trial on any plan. No card needed.
- 01
Consent respected
Only guests whose export says yes can receive your campaigns; everyone else comes across without consent.
- 02
One guest, one history
A guest already on file is merged by phone or email instead of being added twice.
- 03
Bookings on your page
Guests book on your own page with deposits for large parties, and you set the rules.
What comes with you
- Your guests: names, phones, emails and notes, with marketing consent only where the export shows it.
- Your menu, if you keep one in a spreadsheet: categories, dishes and prices.
Moving over in an afternoon
- 01Create your account with Google, Microsoft or an email address.
- 02Export your spreadsheets from TheFork and import them under Bring your data. A preview shows every change first.
- 03Print your new QR codes, place a test order from your phone, and open.
How it works
Take a restaurant that gets bookings through TheFork and wants its guest list on its own booking page.
- Export your guest list from TheFork as a CSV file. In the BookNDish admin, open Bring your data and choose the guest import.
- Upload the file. The columns First name, Last name, Email, Phone, Newsletter and Notes are recognised, and the file must have a consent column.
- The preview shows how many guests are new, how many match a guest already on file by phone or email, and how many have consent. Then press Import.
- Download the rows that were skipped, fix them in the spreadsheet and upload again. Guests then book on your own page, with the rules you set.
What you need
- A CSV file of your guests exported from TheFork, up to 5 MB and 10,000 rows, with a column that says whether each guest agreed to marketing.
- An owner or manager login in BookNDish, as only they can import a guest list.
- Any device with a current browser. Nothing is installed, and a spreadsheet program helps you fix rows that were skipped.
What it does not do
- Only names, phones, emails, notes and marketing consent are imported. Past reservations, reviews and ratings are not brought over.
- A new guest needs a phone number, so a row with only an email is skipped unless that guest is already on file. Rows with neither are skipped and listed.
- Your TheFork listing and its bookings are not moved or switched off by the import. Guests who do not clearly say yes come across without marketing consent.
